The establishment of the Chile-India Working Group is an important step in continuing to strengthen the bilateral relations between both countries, in which Chilenut has been invited to participate. It is crucial to highlight that walnuts rank first in exports to India among all food products and second in total exports with a value of US$61,875,487 as of the year 2022.
The Chile-India Working Group will also comprise representatives from both governments, as well as key actors from the business and trade sectors, such as Sofofa, Asoex, Fedefruta, Chilecarnes, with Iván Marambio, President of Asoex, leading the effort.
The main objective will be to identify areas of common interest and promote cooperation in key sectors such as trade, investment, technology, energy, and education, along with tariff reductions, thus further increasing the share of exports to the Indian market.
In conclusion, the formation of the Chile-India Working Group represents a significant step in strengthening bilateral relations between both countries and ensures opportunities for job creation and industry growth.
